Overview of the Common Application / Personal Statement Essay & Overview of the University of California Personal Interest Questions (PIQs)   

In this session, students will be introduced to the essay writing process for college applications. We will cover the Common Application essay and UC Personal Insight Questions. Students will brainstorm ideas for all prompts and create outlines for all essays.

**Students must attend Session 1 before any other session.

Overview of the Common Application and the Personal Statement Essay & Overview of the California State University Application

In this session, students will get an overview of the Common Application. Students will create an account and begin filling in their application. Students will also get an overview of the California State application. Lastly, students will turn their Common Application essay outline into a first draft.

Starting Your University of California Application & Turning your UC Personal Interest Question Drafts into Essays 

In this session, students will get an overview of the UC Application and fill out the corresponding information. Students will turn their UC PIQ Outlines into first drafts.
